Laptop Screen?

Question by Liam M: Laptop Screen?
I turned on my laptop today only to find that the screen is blank every time I boot up. Now I look closely I can see that it is actually very, very dark. I have not tampered with any settings and I don’t think there are any settings I can change although any suggestions are welcome. I fear it may be that someone has knocked it and the screen needs repair and if this is the case than could domeone give me and estimated price they think it would cost?

could be the backlight(if it has one , sounds like it has(OR HAD!!)) i reckon you will be looking on the sharp end of 100 quid for replacement!!

Usually most companies take 3-5 days, but it could be longer. If you ordered it this past week or this weekend it will take longer because of Memorial Day.

I have friends who have their laptops set up so that they can drag movies and so on over to their other screen, but they have apple laptops. Can I set this up for my Windows laptop without losing the laptop screen? Thanks.

I’m a junior in high school and was wondering should I buy a mac now or wait till college 2011? I know apple likes to come out with new things rapidly,but I didn’t know if they have already leaked new info or if the new unibodies are staying for a while.

I’ve got a Laptop that is made for entertainment and gaming and everything is great except maybe the graphics. They’re not very “sharp” and when I play an online mmorpg, I compared it to my friends PC and his one runs much more smoothly

my laptop has Mobile AMD Sempron processor 3400+ , 1.80Ghz and 868MB of RAM.

is it my graphics card thats letting me down? which one shall i buy?

I’m not an expert on graphics cards, but I have a few thoughts.
1) Before you start playing, shut down any unnecessary programs. De-activate your screen savers, wallpaper, and Windows sound effects.
2) More memory is better (if your system can handle more) particularly with an inefficient operating system like Windows. Every machine has an upper limit.
3) It might help to shut down certain browser “extras” like Google Toolbar (if you have it), which will give your browser less to think about.
