Last year all our grade 6 students leased a netbook – it cost parents $ 1 a week and after 3 years it’s the students’ property.

There were some issues around care (but with $ 100 excess for insurance this only happened a couple of times) but the drawbacks were by far outweighed by the advantages of having a computer on call at all times. Class teachers took responsibility for showing how to use some of the programs but we also found students keen to tutor each other. Internet access at home wasn’t necessary as the netbooks had lots of software pre-loaded.

I thought the program was great and am excited that it’s going to happen again in our class in July!

Besides the Obvious
ebay tigerdirect compgeeks etc etc

Try Dealcatcher Updated daily with
new prices But no matter where you find
a particular price it is good to copy the model and
do a specific search in google to confirm
the (LOW) price you are seeking.

When you do get a low Price (if it is a New Machine)
and you are ready to BUY Oder it with American Express
or another credit card that will double the WARRANTY
costs no extra and is better than 3rd party warranties

PS. after you get your new laptop you may want to at least
consider protecting it and have it last longer with a holder cooler protector like a lapkitt or some other product

If its the outside they make skins that will cover it up, if its on the monitor its prob cheaper to by a new laptop

Yep, they are right. All are true but the last one. But for me, I think you just need some getting used to it. But I’m gonna go more into details. Let’s talk about it one by one.

Issues:
1. Yes, they aren’t as fast as laptops… IF YOU’RE DEALING WITH HARDCORE GAMING AND GRAPHIC DESIGNING. But for surfing the net and some office jobs, netbook will work just fine.
2. That’s what’s compromised. Netbook is invented for portability. That means they’d take out pretty much everything they could to reduce the size of the gadget but having the same features and use irregardless of what’s compromised. It may be speed, graphic quality, sound quality, capacity, e.g.
3.Of course it would be harder to use… AT FIRST. Hehehe. The netbook’s mouse pad is a bit smaller than that of a laptop, thus would take some time getting used to it. But, you’ll get the hang of it.
4. Who the hell told you that? Hahahaha!

I have questions.
1 where are the schools? lower income ares will have pawning, theft and limited access to internet.
2 Who is showing basic computer use to the students. Is there a class for that?
3 What about service? computers have problems all the time especially cheaper brands. Who is servicing the computers?
4 what about the teachers? is there a user friendly interface for viewing all this material they will be receiving. Transfering all this information will be time consuming for the teacher as well as causing chaos for in a intranet system.

I have a hundred more but I’ll stop.

In theory I think this is a brilliant idea but in practice………………
